Job Description
Overview
The Information Security, Analyst will be responsible for monitoring the network for security issues, responding to tickets and requests from employees, installing security software, documenting security configurations, and responding to security issues and/or breaches.
The Information Security Analyst supports the IT security team by monitoring Victaulic's network, installing new security software, and reporting any potential security breaches that occur. It is important for information security analysts to identify any vulnerabilities in Victaulic's computer systems to prevent any cyber-attacks from happening.
A strong candidate for this role will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent requirement in direct experience.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to tickets and request from Victaulic users
  • Investigate and remediate cybersecurity issues
  • Install security measures and operate software
  • Gather feedback from end users to continue to improve systems
  • Design, analyze and implement efficient IT security systems
  • Address network and system vulnerabilities
  • Perform network and software testing
  • Review outputs from Information Security applications and recommend changes to address findings or deficiencies
  • Assist with the development of enterprise-wide practices to manage information security for Victaulic.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and security standards
  • Enhance security systems and make recommendations to management
  • Develop and maintain security documentation for Victaulic's information security systems
  • Work with other IT departments to ensure the appropriate controls are implemented
  • Participate in the Information Security On-call schedule and respond to after-hours issues
  • Participate in efforts to improve and promote data security awareness
  • Serve as a member of Victaulic's Cyber Incident Response Team and participate in all phases of investigations (preparation, detection, reporting, escalation, containment, investigation, remediation, and recovery)

Qualifications
Technical Experience:
  • Understand and apply the concept of Least Privilege
  • Know and understand the information security triad (confidentiality, integrity, and availability)
  • Familiarity with general SIEM and enterprise logging concepts
  • General Firewall knowledge
  • Exposure to ITIL (Incident/Change Management)
  • Experience with LAN/WAN networking concepts, IP addressing and routing concepts, Windows operating systems and best practices

General Requirements:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Detail oriented and pay close careful attention to computer systems and events to detect potential attacks

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, cybersecurity certification, or equivalent experience in an information security or related field.
  • A minimum of an entry-level certification such as the CompTIA Security+ certification
