Position Summary

This position is responsible for tracking the distribution of security releases (patches, updates, upgrades) to company-owned assets, including server infrastructure and related third-party software. Coordinate with business areas to develop mitigation plans for systems or non-critical releases to be tested and implemented based on patch management strategies. Assist business areas with the submission of mitigation plans

Tasks and Responsibilities

Document service requests and change requests with dates as evidence of release, evaluation, approval, and implementation.

Track and record security release dates, assessments, implementation status, and related mitigation plans to ensure releases are implemented and completed on time; mitigation plans are updated or extended in line with company policies and processes, escalate when deadlines are at risk.

Ensure patch management processes and activities are accurately documented and compliant with CPSE policies.

Ensure patch management activities are tracked and approved within the configuration management and change control process.

Coordinate with teams and application owners to evaluate security releases and plan implementation activities.

Participate in patch coordination meetings, provide clear status updates and support meeting activities per business needs.

Produce patch compliance reports and maintain metrics for patch distribution, compliance status.

Use automated tools to assess applicable patches, validate remediation status, generate operational reporting, and support improvements in patch tracking, reporting, and compliance workflows.

Support audits and regulatory requirements by compiling and validating necessary documentation.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of operationalizing security requirements.
Relevant professional experience administering vulnerability remediation process.
Familiarity generating patching program metrics to measure service, effectiveness, and consistency.
Communicates Effectively.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or other related fields from an accredited university.
  • Experience in North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) regulatory environment.
  •  IT auditing and/or security background.
  • Cyber vulnerability management experience.
  •  Experience with reporting dashboards or data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Entry-level security certifications.
