We're revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day technology designed to keep the electric grid secure and reliable, even during extended periods of stress. By strengthening the electric system and reimagining what's possible, we're giving clean energy a whole new form!

In recent years, Form Energy has earned a number of accolades, including being named by TIME as a "Best Invention", MIT Technology Review as a "Top Climate Tech Company To Watch", and Fast Company as "One of the Next Big Things In Tech". We are making rapid progress on our mission of delivering energy storage for a better world, and our team is growing just as rapidly to meet demand. We have signed contracts with leading electric utilities across the United States and production of our iron-air batteries is underway at our first high-volume manufacturing facility in West Virginia.

Working for Form Energy is more than just a job, it's a chance to be part of something extraordinary. And now - right as we significantly scale up battery manufacturing - might be the most exciting moment in the company's history to join. We are assembling a team of highly talented and driven individuals across the country. Driven by our core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, our team is determined to deliver on our mission and transform the energy landscape for the better.

Feeling energized to make a meaningful impact on the world? Then keep reading - you've come to the right place.

Role Description

The Factory Software team is looking for a Business Analyst to drive the execution and continuous improvement of our digital manufacturing ecosystem. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of software development and factory operations, ensuring that the Product Manager's vision is successfully translated into technical reality on the factory floor. You will be responsible for managing the technical lifecycle of software features-from refining user stories to overseeing deployment and post-launch support-while ensuring clear communication between our engineering teams and operational stakeholders. By blending technical project management with deep business analysis, you will help build a unified, software-driven manufacturing environment that scales with Form Energy's growth.

Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and engineering teams to refine technical requirements and ensure the product backlog is actionable and well-defined.

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of software features, tracking project timelines, technical dependencies, and risks to ensure successful factory-floor deployments.

  • Translate high-level functional requirements into detailed technical tasks, including API specifications, data flow diagrams, and system integration maps.

  • Lead technical troubleshooting and provide first-tier support for software issues, acting as the primary liaison between factory users and the development team.

  • Design and execute comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans to validate that software deliveries align with both technical specifications and operational needs.

  • Analyze operational data and system performance metrics (e.g., uptime, throughput) to identify technical bottlenecks and propose software-driven solutions.

  • Facilitate regular technical syncs and project reviews, ensuring all cross-functional stakeholders are aligned on progress, trade-offs, and upcoming releases.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system guides and training materials, to support long-term sustainability and user adoption.

What you'll bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in technical project management, business analysis, or a related role within a software or manufacturing environment.

  • Proven ability to manage technical project lifecycles using tools like Jira to track requirements, sprints, and release milestones.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex architectures, including REST APIs, SQL databases, and system integrations.

  • Experience translating high-level business goals into structured technical documentation for engineering teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between technical developers and non-technical factory stakeholders.

  • A proactive problem-solving mindset with experience troubleshooting software-hardware interactions in high-pressure environments.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

  • A passion for building scalable digital solutions that drive operational excellence and sustainability.

Where you'll work:

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
