About the role
The Information Technology Intern - Level 1 Help Desk provides entry-level technical support to end users by assisting with basic hardware, software, and account-related issues. This position supports daily help desk operations while providing hands-on experience in troubleshooting, customer service, and IT support processes.
What you'll do
• Respond to and document help desk tickets and service requests.
• Provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
• Assist with password resets, account access, and user support.
• Set up and deploy workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT staff.
• Maintain accurate inventory and support documentation.
• Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows and Linux operating systems, and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn technical processes quickly and work under supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems, Active Directory, and remote support tools.
• Basic understanding of networking, device setup, and troubleshooting.
• Prior coursework, lab work, or internship experience in IT support.
