Scope of Responsibility:     To process animal whole blood products as well as perform additional processes to treat the blood components at the Everett Lab as needed to support production requirements. 

Position Requirements: Qualification based upon education, resume and/or work experience 

  • 1 - 2 years of previous manufacturing/production experience 
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English) and mathematics skills are required 
  • Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations 
  • Ability to use various hand and power tools 
  • Ability to use light and heavy material handling equipment and lift up to 50 lbs.  
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for simple maintenance of equipment desirable 
  • Ability to give directions, train others and communicate effectively 


Education:

  • B.S. in relevant field preferred;or
  • High School diploma or equivalent 

 

Essential Functions Include (but are not limited to): 

  • Prepare products according to established batch records and work orders. 
  • Including, but not limited to, aliquotting, defibrination, lysing/laking, cell washing, cell fixation, microbial testing. 
  • Maintain lot number, batch and equipment logbooks in accordance with established procedures. 
  • Perform on-line inspection of components/product and immediately notify supervisor of any problems. 
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of inventory records. 
  • Order inventory and supply items as needed. 
  • Ensure that all operations are in compliance with existing procedures, manufacturing work instructions, and GMPs. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of working area. 
  • Observe safety regulations and practices. 
  • Use good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain excellent in-house customer relations with all functions.  
  • Assist in the cross-training manufacturing technician(s). 
  • Assist in other manufacturing operations as required.
