Job description

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to systems engineering activities by helping define, analyze, document, and validate system-level requirements.
  • Assist with technical coordination, reviews, testing support, and follow-up on action items across teams.
  • Work with hardware, software, and validation stakeholders to enable smooth project execution.
  • Support laboratory validation activities, including developing Python-based test scripts to automate measurements, control test equipment, and collect test data.
  • Assist with testing and characterization of UWB devices, antennas, and related wireless system components.
  • Help prepare reports, specifications, and project records for visibility and traceability.
  • Contribute to structured problem solving, communication, and system quality.

Requirements/Qualification:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience from lab work, design projects, internships, coursework, or student competitions is a plus.
  • Familiar with role-related engineering, design, verification, programming, or lab tools; willingness to learn quickly is important.
  • Basic programming experience in Python and interest in test automation, data analysis, or instrument control is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to RF, wireless systems, antennas, or laboratory test equipment is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, problem solving, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).

In order to be considered for a summer internship with NXP you must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term. If you are graduating prior to July 2027 please apply to Entry Level full-time roles.

The base salary range for this position is as mentioned below per year. We also provide competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and/or equity for certain roles.

Please note that the base salary range (OR hourly rate) is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on a number of factors such as qualifications, skill level, work location, and other business and organizational needs. This base pay range is specific to California and is not applicable to other locations. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range as of the date of this posting is:

$64,400 to $107,500 annually
