Job description

SUMMARY

The System Administrator is responsible for assisting the Senior System Administrator in the administration, functionality, and maintenance of all computerized systems with-in the organization.

**Entry Level Administrator, training and system access will be given at the I.T. Directors discretion. **

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements, and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed, and other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist the network administrator in maintaining and securing the corporate network infrastructure.
  • Assist the Senior System Administrator with the administration of all server-based hardware and software in the corporate network.
  • Participate in the design, testing, and implementation phases of all Information Technology related projects.
  • Provide direct technical support to users at all levels of complexities.
  • Respond to critical after hour requests for support at any/all levels of skill needed to ensure functionality of core operating systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and provide resolution to desktop level issues
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and optimize systems
  • Input daily workload into work order tracking system
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the IT field.
  • Knowledge of Cisco switching, wireless and telephony technologies required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Servers 2012 - 2019 required.
  • Must be A+ and N+ certified.
  • Ability to co-ordinate both internal and outsourced resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and desktop software
  • Must be available to work varying shifts and provide after hours on-call support
  • Knowledge of Casino Gaming and Hospitality systems
  • MCSE, CCNA certifications highly desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and staff. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effective interpersonal skills required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School diploma or GED required. Some college courses, preferably in the computer sciences field or the equivalent in work experience. Any combination of training or experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Minimum of two years of I.T. support experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration needed to perform assigned duties in highly disruptive conditions. Must be detail orientated and possess organizational skills.
