Job Description
AECOM is hiring for an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in our North Charleston, SC office.
This position is expected to start immediately.
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Pump station evaluation and design.
  • Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design.
  • Sewer collection system evaluation and design
  • Assist with plans, specifications, and permitting
  • Perform civil engineering modeling, design, and drafting work for engineers and project managers
  • Assist with preparing/reviewing cost estimates, job budgets and schedules
  • Support preparation of final plans, reports, and calculations
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and multi-discipline professionals
  • Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files
  • Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support
  • Assist with resolution of construction issues and conducting site observations

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite - specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD)
  • Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel on business periodically for periods of up to 2-3 days
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
  • Minimum 6 months technical work experience in civil engineering or related field (e.g. summer internships, Co-Op).
