Assistant Professor of Computer Science - LSU New Orleans
The Department of Computer Science at LSU New Orleans invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Spring 2027. The department seeks candidates whose research centers on artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on AI for cybersecurity, bioinformatics, gaming and simulation experiences, and autonomous vehicles. Strong candidates in closely related AI areas will also be considered.
About the Department: The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including a Ph.D. And hosts two research centers. Faculty maintains active research programs in AI, cybersecurity and digital forensics, bioinformatics, environmental informatics, gaming and simulations, and autonomous vehicles. The university is located in New Orleans, a culturally distinctive city with a growing technology and defense sector.
Responsibilities: Establish and sustain an externally funded research program; teach undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise graduate students; and provide service to the department, university, and profession.
