Entry Level Radar Engineer/Scientist

Overview

Responsibilities

The desired entry-level Radar Engineer/Scientist candidate will support digital simulation laboratories.

Primary duties will include radar algorithm development and sensor assessment and will require a strong engineering background to understand the phenomena and algorithms.

Duties will include developing, maintaining, and operating radar simulation software that generates physics-based scenes used to simulate missile sensors and environments.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or relevant STEM field from an accredited institution.

0-3 years relevant experience.

Strong candidates will be adept in programming in C/C++ in a Linux environment, and in programming in MATLAB. Strong candidates may also have experience in physics-based scene generation and sensor evaluation.

Candidate must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.

Must be flexible and able to work in both office and lab environments.

U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain/maintain security clearance required.

Physical Description

Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
