Environmental Field Technician

Full-Time | Rochester, NY
Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour | 40 hours per week
Start time: 7am Monday-Friday

TES Staffing is partnering with a leading environmental testing and laboratory organization to hire a full-time Environmental Field Technician. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, traveling throughout New York State, and building a career in environmental science and field services.

What You'll Do

As an Environmental Field Technician, you'll work alongside an experienced team to collect environmental samples from industrial, municipal, and environmental sites throughout New York State. Your work will directly support environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and laboratory testing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collect groundwater, surface water, soil, and other environmental samples according to established protocols.
  • Travel to industrial facilities, municipal sites, landfills, and other environmental project locations.
  • Operate and maintain field sampling equipment.
  • Accurately document field activities and sampling results.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Work closely with laboratory personnel, project managers, clients, and regulatory representatives.
  • Assist with planning and executing environmental sampling events.

Most work is performed outdoors year-round, so candidates should be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions.

No previous environmental field experience is required. Comprehensive, hands-on training will be provided in:

  • Environmental sampling methods and techniques
  • Field instrumentation and equipment
  • OSHA safety regulations
  • Environmental regulations and compliance
  • Groundwater and surface water sampling
  • Project documentation and reporting
  • Site-specific protocols and best practices.
