Position Summary
The UNM-Valencia Campus seekscandidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000-2000 Level ComputerScience (programming) courses. If online teaching is needed, documentedaccepted training and/or in-house training would be required. Positions arecontingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollmentlevels and current course offerings. This is a continuous recruitmentbeginning in the Fall 2026 semester.
Located about 30 miles south ofAlbuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-ValenciaCampus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico, whichfunctions as a community college in the region and is designated a HispanicServing Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, ValenciaCampus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education,and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.UNM has earned the platinum-level distinction from FamilyFriendlyNM.org for itsworkplace policies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Master's degree in Applied Mathematics or a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Computer Science
  • Two years of experience teaching or tutoring Computer Science (programming)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D., ABD, or EdD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • At least one year of successful teaching experience at a community college
  • Documented training to teach online courses
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
