Job description

Overview:
TécFAB Junior Designer is an entry-level position with the design team at TécFAB. This position will require a self-motivated individual responsible for developing basic CAD geometry of sheet metal parts to support fabrication efforts as well as support TécFAB in general administrative areas as it relates to procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draw parts in CAD and develop DXF files to support fabrication efforts on the shop floor IAW technical requirements.
  • Have a working knowledge of design drawings, inclusive of understanding Plan Views, Section Views, Elevations and Details.
  • Review and understand details of a work package such as technical information, specification items, drawings, and manuals, sketches, written requirements etc. and convey the parts and pieces from those packages in CAD format.
  • Proficiently operate Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook primarily.
  • Develop parts utilizing Trimble HVAC programming software.
  • Work with shop team members to support general process requirements in way of documents, computer software files, etc. as required.
  • Communicate with the design team, customer, or designated representative to coordinate specific job-related aspects and ensure job continuity.
  • Follow company, and customer policies, regulations, procedures, and other necessary requirements.
  • Required to maintain proper use of company equipment such as laptop, computer monitor, etc.
  • Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as:
    • Stooping
    • Bending
    • Squatting

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have formal AutoCAD training and proof of instruction.
  • Must be able to pass a CAD skills test.

Experience Plus:
  • Relative work experience with prints, drawings, etc. in support of ship repair
  • Relative work experience with CNC equipment
  • Relative work experience in the ventilation field, up to, and including HVAC part programming a plus.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
  • Must know how to measure using tape measure
  • Must be able to wear applicable PPE (steel toe shoes, ear protection, face shields, safety glasses and face coverings as required)
  • Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening

Salary Range: $40,000-$54,000.00
