Job description

Title: Manufacturing Group Lead (Entry Level to Experienced)

Type of Placement: Temp to Perm

Shift: 6:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Some Saturdays 6:00am-11:00am

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 hourly

Summary:

This company is looking for a motivated Group Leader to join their team to lead a group of six employees working in the hardware department.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead by example, coach, and manage production employees.
  • Promote and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Ensure quality standards and customer requirements are met.
  • Inspect operators work throughout the hardware process.
  • Monitor production schedules and help meet daily goals.
  • Address production issues and work with other departments to resolve them.
  • Hold employees accountable while treating everyone with respect.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and workflow.
  • Train new employees and support ongoing employee development.
  • Communicate effectively with management, other departments, and 2nd shift supervisor each day.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Understanding of the “Hardware” installation process in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
  • Blueprint reading experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office


Environmental Conditions:

  • Work takes place in a metal fabrication shop with exposure to loud machinery, sparks, heat, metal dust, and heavy equipment.

Physical Capabilities:

  • Must be able to: stand for 8 hours and move from role to role or sedentary standing; lift light to moderate amounts of weight; perform repetitive upper extremity motions and repetitive forceful grip/pinch movement requiring both hands.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
