Job description

The Substation Drafter supports the design of substation engineering projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create electrical drawings for facilities, such as lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Develop entry-level drawings by using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of other Electrical Technicians or Engineers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for production of design developments and construction documents, and a thorough knowledge of engineering planning, drafting, and detailing
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3 years plus of professional experience with AutoCAD including electrical design
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
