Join Our Team as an Entry Level Power Distribution Engineer in New Orleans!

Are you ready to kickstart your engineering career with exciting projects in the energy distribution sector? Join us as an Entry Level Power Distribution Engineer and be part of a dynamic team that makes a real impact!

What You'll Do:

  • Design Engineering: Produce innovative engineering designs for energy distribution projects.
  • Project Management: Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOMs, estimate costs, and more.
  • Support Major Projects: Work on major distribution projects for the utility industry using CAD for drafting/design work and ArcFM.
  • Leadership Projects: Engage in projects related to electric power distribution and leadership, specifically make-ready and smart antenna.
  • Construction Support: Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all standards are met.
  • Site Inspections: Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, and return to the office to perform engineering design work.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 0-1 year of experience or basic knowledge in the electric utility industry, including primary and secondary distribution systems, utility standards, design software packages, and general construction knowledge.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation/initiative, and a desire to learn.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization and with outside clients and agencies.
  • Analytical Competence: Ability to interact with a variety of individuals, including engineers and experienced distribution system designers.
