Your Role

The Automated Equipment Specialist I is an entry level position within the Automated Equipment Maintenance team. The Automated Equipment Maintenance team primarily focuses on the maintenance of equipment that operates autonomously or with minimal human intervention, such as robotics, conveyor systems, and automated assembly lines. Maintenance of automated equipment often requires specialized knowledge of software, sensors, controllers, and other components specific to automation technology. Automated equipment maintenance may heavily rely on predictive maintenance techniques, leveraging data from sensors and IoT devices to predict equipment failures and schedule maintenance proactively. Automated Equipment maintenance involves maintaining the integration of automated equipment with other systems, such as data networks, control systems, and software interfaces. Compared to manufacturing maintenance, automated equipment maintenance requires a higher degree of specialization in modern automation technologies. Duties include:

  • Daily preventative and breakdown maintenance of automated production equipment - mechanically, pneumatically, and electrically.
  • Perform basic maintenance activities on automated equipment including manufacturing equipment and manufacturing equipment control systems, laboratory equipment control systems, robotic systems, etc.
  • Entry level knowledge base of the above systems that require minimal human intervention, the software, controllers, and other components.
  • Automated Equipment Specialist maintains the integration of automated equipment with other systems, such as data networks, control systems, and software interfaces.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance techniques and leverage data from sensors and electronic devices to drive proactive maintenance activities and predict/prevent equipment failures.
  • Complete tasks that are more specialized than routine maintenance activities due to the modern automation technologies which include integrated data networks, control systems, and software interfaces.
  • Diagnose basic automated equipment malfunctions and perform basic repairs and support operations schedule by minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance optimization, maintain accurate documentation, support installation and validation of automated equipment, proactively identify and communicate safety, quality, and productivity issues, comply with EHS guidelines, contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, maintain a clean and orderly workspace, and work under close supervision.
  • Work cross functionally with operations, quality, and engineering.

D Shift 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM Fri - Sun

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ years of automation experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ experience working in an equipment maintenance or related position.
  • Associate’s degree in Life Science discipline.
  • Basic electro-mechanical and controls knowledge along with experience applying this knowledge to process/equipment design and troubleshooting.
  • Experience and ability to become a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW).
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Possess knowledge of EH&S, ISO, cGMP, and regulatory requirements; understand safe work practices including lockout/tagout and electrical safety per OSHA; skilled in Microsoft Office, CAD drawings/schematics, Lean/Six Sigma, precision measurement tools, basic robotics, and drive installation/configuration; and demonstrate effective verbal and written communication while collaborating cross-functionally on process and equipment improvements.

Pay Range for this position: $24 -$39 per hour

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
