SUMMARY OF POSITION
Kinsley is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our Site team in North East, MD. In this role, you'll work alongside Project Managers by assisting them with day-to-day project coordination, including documentation, jobsite communication, scheduling, and cost tracking. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction management, offering hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced Project Managers.
Preferred qualifications include a background in Engineering or Construction Management, relevant field experience, strong computer and communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Read and interpret complex construction documents and drawings.
  • Review and process properly transmitted contract documents.
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Organize and maintain contract documents and shop drawings.
  • Assist with the preparation of all change order requests for the client's approval; coordinate the estimating of all change orders with the project estimator or subcontractor; assist with the documentation of all field directives from the owner or architect that change the scope or original design of the contract documents.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the project schedule.
  • Update the project schedule as directed.
  • Monitor field productions and assist in preparing production reports and costs to complete as directed.
  • Properly code material and subcontractor invoices.
  • Assist project manager with subcontractor and material supplier coordination.
  • Organize and maintain contract documents and shop drawings.
  • Set up and maintain job files.
  • Monitor all long lead items and notify the project manager of any problems.
  • Assist in the preparation of the project close-out manuals.
  • Assist in developing a project punch list as well as ensuring that all items on the list are complete promptly.
  • Assist with Quality Control, including preparatory meetings and final inspections
  • Perform other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior PE experience preferred.
  • Prior field construction experience preferred.
  • 2 - 4-year post-secondary degree preferred.
