Electronics Technician Position

Position Summary/Objective

The Electronics Technician tests and repairs AstroNova Aerospace products. This is a full-time Monday through Friday first shift position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures the OEM, systems recorders, printers and replacement parts produced by AstroNova meet all specifications and requirements, both physical and electrical, by following the appropriate test procedure and/or specification sheet.

• Ensures quality of workmanship in all manufactured goods, informing his/her supervisor, manufacturing, QA, R&D and others as applicable of items that require improvement.

• Aids in training new individuals in proper inspection, troubleshooting and testing items produced by AstroNova

• Perform other related duties assigned by their supervisor or other management as required.

Required Competencies

  • Positive attitude – Demonstrates a sincere positive attitude towards getting things done. Responds to change with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work activities and objectives.
  • Mechanical aptitude – A person's ability to figure out how objects work and move, alone and in relation to other objects. Innate ability to understand and use machines or tools.
  • Attention to detail & Ability to follow direction – Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small. Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently, which following the direction of experienced technicians.
  • Reading for information – Understanding written sentences and ability to extract relevant information from work related documents.
  • Basic computer knowledge - Understanding of how to access and update documents.

Preferred Competencies

  • Trouble shooting - Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic devices
  • Quality control analysis – Ensure all product is manufactured in accordance with the correct specifications

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands, hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Those that qualify must adhere to the FAA Drug and Alcohol Program.
