Network Engineer I
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Job Type: Long-Term Contract
Work Setting: Onsite
Project Overview
We are supporting a large-scale airport technology environment that requires skilled IT professionals to help maintain, enhance, and support critical computer and information systems across multiple airport facilities. These long-term contract opportunities involve working within a complex, mission-critical infrastructure that supports airport operations, security, communications, and enterprise technology services. Successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of IT systems in a dynamic operational environment.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and replace network hardware including switches, wireless access points, cabling components, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, hardware inspections, and equipment repairs or replacements.
  • Respond to Level 1 and Level 2 network service requests involving connectivity issues, wireless troubleshooting, and port activations.
  • Assist with basic network configuration tasks following established standards and procedures.
  • Document work performed, update asset inventories, and maintain accurate service records.
  • Support senior engineers during network upgrades, migrations, and project deployments.
  • Conduct onsite testing, verification, and validation of network functionality following installations and repairs.
  • Follow established change management and incident response procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting enterprise networking environments or IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and wireless technologies.
  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting switches, access points, cabling, and related network equipment.
  • Experience following documented procedures for configuration, installation, and incident resolution.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management processes.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including equipment installation, lifting hardware, climbing ladders, and working in telecom or data center environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are preferred.
