Job description

POSITION DEFINITION:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Technology, performs entry-level technical support duties related to the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, devices, and classroom technology. Assists users with basic hardware and software issues and supports the daily operation of district technology systems.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This entry-level role is distinguished by its focus on front-line technical support, serving as the initial point of contact for resolving basic hardware, software, and classroom technology issues across district sites. The incumbent primarily handles routine deployment, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of devices like Chromebooks, projectors, and peripherals. A key characteristic of this position is the provision of courteous and responsive technical customer support.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
The duties listed are typical, but not exclusive:
  1. Provides front-line technical support across all district sites, responding to help desk tickets and assisting users with basic hardware, software, and device-related issues;
  2. Installs, configures, and deploys computers, Chromebooks, and peripheral equipment, including printers and scanners;
  3. Assists with the installation and basic setup of classroom technology, including displays, projectors, and audiovisual equipment;
  4. Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on computer systems and devices; completes minor repairs or coordinates equipment replacement;
  5. Maintains standard device configurations for classroom and office environments;
  6. Assists with user account setup and system access;
  7. Supports inventory tracking of technology equipment and peripherals;
  8. Follows established procedures for imaging, device deployment, and equipment setup;
  9. Escalates complex technical issues to higher-level technical staff as appropriate;
  10. Maintains accurate records of work performed and updates helpdesk tickets;
  11. Attends trainings and participates in professional development to build technical knowledge;
  12. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
  • Basic computer hardware, software, and operating systems
