The General Help role is an entry-level position in the production department of our bakeries. This role performs various essential duties and tasks, including box construction, packing, and quality control. This role is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to manufacturing and start a long-term, rewarding career.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Follow all standards and general manufacturing procedures Reviews list of the current production run.
  • Communicate information with other employees on the same line/area.
  • Ensure the proper handling, stacking, and movement of ingredients and bakery products.
  • Complete quality check sheets, dough schedule recording, taking temperatures of product, housekeeping, and working safely.
  • Communicates any issues to the proper Supervisor or Manager.
  • Perform box construction, packing, and quality control duties as part of the production process.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot food machinery safely and efficiently. Review the current production run and communicate any necessary adjustments.
  • Complete required quality control tasks, including recording dough schedules, checking temperatures, and documenting on quality check sheets.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards within the work area, following all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Qualifications:

  • Read, comprehend,d and practice necessary safety procedures and signs. Experience operating machinery
  • Willing to work irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off) and working holidays and weekends as required
  • Ability to arrive at work on time consistently. Must be 18 years or older

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift, maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
  • Ability to use arms, hands, and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors, and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.
