Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our well-established department Remediation business line immediately. The Remediation Business Line focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors.
The selected candidate for the role will be responsible for executing large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services. The team provides technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities.
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. The individual will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.
The job responsibilities for the position will include, but are not limited to:
  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering.
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening.
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to proactively lead Remediation technical efforts and project team staff.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specifications
