Job description

Support the engineering development of new products, processes, and procedures that contribute to high-quality products for our customers. This role provides hands-on experience across the new product development lifecycle, with guidance from senior engineers, and is designed to foster technical skill development and professional growth in the field of engineering. Responsibilities include assisting with product design activities and supporting technical ownership tasks in alignment with corporate deliverables.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

  • Entry-level to early-career experience in product development engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field; exposure to the furniture industry or similar manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality concepts, with a willingness to learn industry-specific standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation with guidance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to develop critical and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software; hands-on experience through coursework, internships, or early professional roles is acceptable.
  • Foundational understanding of engineering trade-off decisions and curiosity about how design choices impact cost, quality, and performance.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Experience working in the furniture industry highly preferred.
  • Experience using SolidWorks preferred.
  • Project management experience working on cross-functional teams preferred.
