Are you passionate about technology and interested in building the software that powers innovative self-service solutions? As an Entry-Level Firmware Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of Diebold Nixdorf's next generation of Self-Service Terminals.
In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to help design, develop, test, and support firmware solutions that enable secure and reliable transactions. You'll gain hands-on experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, mechanical, and systems engineers, to bring new products from concept to production.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys problem-solving, is eager to learn, and has foundational knowledge of C++ development.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a team-based system of developers
  • With guidance, Development Engineering duties, including:
    • Analyzing issues to find root causes and effect solutions
    • Supporting production teams on issues related to application design, deployment, and operation
    • Deploying/Authoring, test cases and sequence diagrams
    • Troubleshooting and creating detailed test plans
    • Interfacing with electro-mechanical modules which perform ATM transactions
  • Learns and applies Development Engineering methodologies and practices, carryout complex or novel assignments which require the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
  • Assists with special projects, or other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, OR equivalent education and work experience
  • Experience developing C++ applications, required
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Development/Firmware Engineering (including internships)

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of
  • Multithreaded design
  • Real-time operating system environment
  • Controlling and interfacing with embedded systems
  • Agile project management environment experience
