Job description

Primary Purpose
Functions in an entry level Designer capacity. Performs entry level work using computer-aided drafting design software related to electrical transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure projects. This position will assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions and prepare drawings using information from rough sketches, detailed engineering notes or brief verbal guidance including electrical, mechanical, and civil-structural disciplines. This position will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients supporting major infrastructure projects.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
  • Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
  • Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
  • Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.
  • Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of project standards, systems, document control, department and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing an understanding of the Quality Program and project standards.
  • Learn the coordination of deliverables within the team.
