Hilltop Securities Inc. is currently looking for qualified students to join our Structured Finance team as a Summer Intern. This individual will work closely with our Structured Finance to gain hands-on experience in the profession while assisting with several key initiatives across the company. They will develop entry-level experience in the financial services industry, including development and delivery of initiatives, and effective practices. Our Summer 2027 Internship Program is an in-person experience lasting from May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027, with opportunities located in downtown Dallas at our HTS Tower location and throughout the country at various branch locations.
Responsibilities
  • Experience on a full-service sales and trading desk - this individual will learn about products traded including treasury, agency, corporate, municipal, and mortgage-backed bonds. This person will also work on the taxable fixed income trading desk with Traders and Assistants on various projects using Bloomberg, Excel, and firm platforms.
  • Work directly with Traders and Sales team
  • Learn desk technique and strategy

Qualifications
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree candidate in math (or Actuarial Science), statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, data science
  • Some experience (0 - 1 year) is preferred but not required
  • An interest in finance and financial markets
  • Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac), and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills
  • Some Programming skills: Python, VBA required, SQL or C++ is a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Prior work experience or an internship at a finance company would be a plus
