Production Associate (Onsite)
Location: Timberlake, NC
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
About the Role:
Voltage is seeking an experienced Production Associate, an entry-level production role building wire harnesses to engineering specifications. Works under an Area Lead in one of four process areas: Cutting/Prep, Crimping, Assembly, or Test/Final. No prior wire harness experience required ๏ฟฝ full training provided. Role requires strong hand dexterity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
What You'll Do:
  • Produce wire harnesses according to standard work instructions, engineering drawings, and quality standards
  • Operate production equipment including cutting machines, crimp presses, assembly fixtures, or test stations (specific to area assignment)
  • Perform self-inspection and first-article verification on completed work
  • Flag quality issues, non-conforming material, or equipment problems immediately to the Area Lead
  • Complete SAP production confirmations (with training) for units produced
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe workstation ๏ฟฝ 5S practices
  • Participate in daily start-up meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement activities
  • Cross-train in adjacent operations to build flexibility

What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift, perform repetitive hand motions, and distinguish colors (for wire color coding)
  • Strong hand dexterity and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and follow standard work
  • Basic math and reading skills for interpreting work instructions and labels
  • Prior manufacturing experience (any industry)
  • Wire harness, electronics assembly, or soldering experience
  • Hand tool familiarity (crimpers, strippers, pliers)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 awareness

Physical Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively in person and via phone/video. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
