Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Construction Inspector Aide to support projects located within the Montgomery, AL area. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in construction inspection while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Relies on detailed instructions and pre-established guidelines to effectively perform assigned job functions while following standard procedures and project requirements
  • Works under immediate supervision, receiving guidance and direction from senior inspectors or project managers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and applicable code requirements by performing thorough and consistent inspection duties in the field
  • Performs daily field inspections, documenting observations and maintaining accurate, organized inspection records to support project tracking and compliance
  • Participates in the development of punch lists, as well as testing and commissioning activities, to help ensure all systems and components meet project standards prior to completion
  • Tracks quality assurance progress throughout various stages of construction, identifying issues and supporting corrective actions to maintain project quality
  • Provides input and support for documentation related to area and equipment turnovers, assisting in the preparation of closeout materials and ensuring a smooth transition to operations 
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required 
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT - Must obtain within the first six months of the assignment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic mathematical calculations and follow simple technical instructions experience
  • Two years of construction experience
