Job description

RGV Family Eye Care is a trusted optometry practice committed to providing exceptional vision care to patients across the Rio Grande Valley. We are looking for a dedicated Office Technician to join our team. This is an entry-level position that serves as the face and voice of our medical office. This position plays a key role in delivering outstanding patient care by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering phones, pre-testing, and supporting the daily operations of the office. 


This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive healthcare environment. No prior experience is required. We're happy to provide comprehensive on-the-job training to motivated individuals.

Responsibilities: 

 

- Perform front office duties such as scheduling, answering phones, verifying insurance, checking patients in/out, data entry, scanning, faxing, filing, etc. 


- Assist patients wih intake forms and general questions. 


- Ensure exam rooms and medical equipment remain sanitized, organized, and fully stocked while completing daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.  


- Collect and document patient records, including medical codes, patient history, medications, and eye health information. 


- Perform pre-testing, including visual acuity, topography, visual field, OCT, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic testing. 


- Educate patients with proper contact lens care and insert/removal training. 


- Perform other tasks assigned by management. 


Qualifications: 

- High school diploma or GED required. 


- Bilingual preferred.  


- Excellent communication and customer service skills. 


- Ability to quickly learn new software and technology. 


- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.  


- Professional appearance and demeanor.

- Maintain a professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude when interacting with patients, coworkers, and management.
