This is a mid to entry level Laborer position to perform work in our fabrication shop completing parts for bridges and buildings. WORK SCHEDULE FOR A MACHINE OPERATOR / LABORER

The schedule for this full-time position is typically Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Overtime may be required at times in order to meet project needs. There may be an opportunity to work a flexible schedule based on project needs and with prior approval of your supervisor.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MACHINE OPERATOR / LABORER

As a Machine Operator / Laborer, your work is important to our success. You will work in the fabrication shop completing parts for bridges, buildings, locks and dams, and other structures. You will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Cutting, Drilling and Forming steel components
  • Grinding, cutting and piece marking
  • Supporting all other fabrication operations as needed, including material handling, shot blasting and welding
  • Operating cranes and fork trucks
  • Potential to get into welding and advance your career

The Machine Operator and Laborer will also assist team members as needed in order to achieve company goals. See attached job description for additional information.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MACHINE OPERATOR / LABORER

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to learn other aspects of fabrication.
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet project needs.
  • Ability to follow instruction and produce consistent work that meets customer expectations.
  • CNC or Programming background a plus.
  • 2-5 years of work experience
  • Successful completion of vocational or technical school preferred.

SAFETY

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
