Machine Operator: Freeport, Illinois
Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting a Machine Operator (Side Winder) to work full-time on 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:00pm). As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized equipment used to wind materials into finished products.
 
Responsibilities of the Machine Operator (Side Winder):
  • Set up, operate, and maintain side winder machinery.
  • Wind materials such as wire, yarn, or synthetic fibers onto bobbins, spools, or reels.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality output.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using strong problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work collaboratively to meet production goals and deadlines.
 
Machine Operator (Side Winder) Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with complex machinery such as CNC equipment, grinders, drawing machines, or laser machines preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn specialized equipment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to train on 1st shift for 4–8 weeks before transitioning to 2nd shift.
