Job description

Job Title: Machining Operator
Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Casting
Reports to: Supervisor
Position Summary:
Monitors a set of automated CNC machining lines to produce aluminum alloy billets for forging presses.
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure equipment is operating within specified parameters.
  • Material handling requiring use of forklift and overhead crane
  • Ensure quality is maintained
  • Make offset adjustments if necessary
  • Fill out required production documents
  • Changeovers
  • Maintain clean/organized work area
  • Performs other duties as required
Skills & Competencies:
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to use measuring devices such as calipers
  • Ability to identify nonstandard situations and respond accordingly.
Education & Experience:
  • High school degree or GED equivalence.
  • Experience in operating CNC machined is preferred

  • Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible work schedule as needed with adequate notification.
  • Always maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Willing to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy industrial environments.
