Job description

Job Overview: You’ll be part of the leading experts in the environment that pride themselves on grit, integrity, ownership, and innovation. Germfree prides themselves on engineering and developing innovative solutions that make an impact in the real world. You will operate the laser cutter, waterjet, and CNC press brake.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work from blueprints, work orders, and specifications, in addition to following verbal instructions
  • Cut and fabricate stainless steel, aluminum, and steel
  • Produce high-quality metal parts within tolerances.
  • Utilize hand tools, a tape measure, and digital calipers
  • Other reasonably related duties

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • An active driver’s License helpful
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Basic reading and comprehension skills; ability to write legibly
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Detail and quality results-oriented

  • Ability to use and read measuring instruments accurately in both U.S. Standard and Metric
  • Awareness of general safety principles in a Shop environment in addition to welding safety and personal

  • Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing and pulling between 50-75 pounds; crouching; bending, twisting; kneeling; squatting; crawling; walking; standing for long periods; reaching in all directions; balancing, holding, grasping and manipulating very small objects; hand/eye coordination; level of ambidexterity; use safety ladder; climbing; lay on a mechanic’s creeper and move about while performing tasks with tools; tolerate varying ranges of temperature inside and outside of a Shop environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Certification desired; Vocational/Technical, U.S. Armed Forces, or apprenticeship training preferred.
  • Experience with reading and understanding blueprints or sketches
  • Knowledge of and experience in operation of similar CNC machines.
  • 1-year relevant experience, dependent on the level of the job function. Experienced in stainless steel fabrication, tight tolerances and specifications, use of lathe, shear, and manual brake press helpful.
