Job description

You will be part of the Operations team that demonstrates a high level of technical ability, delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. The Operations team maintains Trayport's core application platforms, both on-premise and cloud along with having deployment, maintenance and observability responsibilities for several of them.
You will be responsible for the deployments of core applications, both on prem and cloud, ensure they are completed in a timely manner and the system is operational ahead of market opening. You will be acting as a key point of contact for the regional client support teams, providing escalation support where necessary and assisting with incident investigation and resolution.
The role will also involve delivering and supporting projects and BAU work streams.

The Role

You will be responsible for the deployments of core applications, both on prem and cloud, ensure they are completed in a timely manner and the system is operational ahead of market opening. Responsibilities

  • Be part of a global support team, ensuring smooth handovers between regional departments (London > Toronto > Singapore).

  • Maintenance and monitoring of existing on premise/cloud infrastructure.

  • Application maintenance and deployments outside of core market hours, using industry best practices and deployment technologies.

  • Identification, troubleshooting and resolution of application issues ahead of market opening hours.

  • Support client facing teams with provisioning of new client infrastructure and upgrades.

  • Use Infrastructure as Code to provision new resources and infrastructure.

  • Work closely with Information Security to remediate risks and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.

  • Undertake BAU systems administration tasks and processes using automation such as Powershell.

  • Support development teams with deployment and maintenance of business critical client facing applications.

  • Support wider project goals relating to key business objectives.

The Person

Technical

Essential:

  • Infrastructure and OS background, Windows & Linux.

  • Azure and AWS experience, e.g AKS, EKS.

  • Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible and other automation platforms.

  • Experience in Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD.

  • Experience with supporting and troubleshooting applications using industry standard technologies such as Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic and Splunk.

  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation concepts and the ability to implement automation to resolve recurring issues.

  • Knowledge of Virtualisation.

  • Ability to troubleshoot networking issues.

  • Understanding of GIT, code reviews etc.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a FinTech environment.

  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL principles.

  • Previous experience in an application support capacity.

  • Understanding of DevOps and SRE principles

Non-technical

  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks.

  • Be able to work independently and take initiative where necessary.

  • Shift work is necessary.

  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies.

Salary Range:65,000-85,000 CAD/year. Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
