Job description

A postdoctoral research associate position is available with Dr. John Crispino.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the St. Jude Center for Spatial Transcriptomics to advance profiling of the bone
marrow.
2. Perform rigorous research into the effects of specific gene mutations on megakaryocyte development.
3. Submit grant proposals for independent funding
4. Present findings at internal lab meetings and national meetings.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
A PhD in biological science and at least one first author publication from the graduate training.
Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Required Skills: - Previous experience in hematology research - Expertise in gene regulation and the ability to analyze data from single cell sequencing approaches - Experience in animal modeling Preferred Skills: - Outstanding communication skills - An interest in learning analysis of spatial transcriptomics date - A team player - Experience in various sequencing-based functional genomic assays, including but not limited to ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and ATAC-seq. - An understanding of emerging technologies in functional genomics, adopting and implementing new methodologies in collaboration with other researchers.

He has been faculty and course director of the ASH/EHA Translational Research Training in Hematology Program and is Associate Director of Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination for the St. Jude Comprehensive Cancer Center. These experiences provide him with strong mentoring skills that he leverages to train post-docs to become independent.
