Job description

If you LOVE cars & are wanting to get into a dealership with the purpose of learning and growing into a highly skilled technician, then this is the opening for YOU! This job description outlines an entry-level technician position at Thomas Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Highland, located in Highland, Indiana. The role primarily involves performing basic automotive inspections, general maintenance & repairs, such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, using diagnostic equipment, new vehicle preps & more. The technician will also communicate with service advisors and customers, explaining necessary repairs and providing estimates, while adhering to manufacturer standards and safety protocols.

Compensation & Benefits:

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic automotive inspections, general maintenance & repairs
  • Collaborate with service advisors and customers to explain repairs and provide estimates.
  • Work according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and continue learning about new automotive technologies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Prior automotive education is an advantage.
  • Previous automotive experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation. 
  • Basic tools to perform light vehicle maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
