Job description

  • Litigation Veteran: You have 2+ years of experience in litigation (Employment Law or Plaintiff-side Personal Injury preferred). You know the California Code of Civil Procedure like the back of your hand.
  • Tech Enthusiast: You aren't afraid of using technology and AI; you're excited by it. You’re proficient in Word, Excel, and Case Management Software (CMS), and you pick up new tools quickly.
  • Effective Organizer: You thrive when the "To-Do" list is long. You can pivot between drafting discovery and updating a client without breaking your stride.
  • Self-Starter: You don’t wait for a reminder. You see a deadline approaching in three weeks, and you’re prepping the file today.
Compensation:

$25 - $35 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Filing & Docketing: Manage a heavy volume of litigation filings, ensuring every deadline is calendared with 100% accuracy.
  • Litigation Lifecycle Management: Drive cases from initial filing through discovery and trial prep. You’ll oversee "the machine" to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work directly with attorneys to determine the most cost-effective and aggressive paths to victory for clients.
  • Tech-Forward Operations: Utilize our case management systems (and help implement our new AI tools) to maintain flawless electronic files and automated reminders.
  • Client Advocacy: Act as a professional, empathetic point of contact for clients navigating complex employment disputes.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Professional case management or paralegal experience in a fast-paced law firm environment (employment law, or other plaintiff-side work, such as personal injury, preferred), or as a personal injury case manager, or related jobs such as legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, at a non-profit, law firm, or human services agency
  • Skills: Strong legal drafting and research capabilities are critical. Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are a must.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal Certification is a significant plus.
  • Mindset: A desire to learn and understand California Employment Law and grow into a leadership role as the firm scales.
