Job Description:

The Electrician provides electrical services, per district/local/State/Federal objectives and/or standards, with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment. Responds to work requests timely and professionally and completes work assignments. This position may assist other Maintenance Mechanics in projects and ensures that tools and materials are available at the job site. The Electrician may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.Education: Required: Journeyman Electrician within 2 years of hire Preferred: Master ElectricianExperience: Required: 3 years related experienceSkills: Proficient communication skills Ability to prioritize workload Ability to analyze blue prints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems Ability to diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and / or systems repairs Has knowledge of electrical system components (e.g. lighting, alarms, electrical panels, switches, circuits, timers, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhance and/or upgraded electrical capabilities and for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition Keeps current with City / County regulations for complianceLicensure/Certification/Registration: Required: Active Driver's License Required: Journeyman Electrician within 2 years of hire. Required: STI Fire Stop Certified within 1 year of hire (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified) Preferred: Master Electrician Preferred: Operation of fork-lift
