Job description

Objective of the Position: Responsible for the operation, set-up, changeover, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of specialized equipment on the Comas line.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Completes all documentation and reporting associated with the position in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform all functions of machine setup and operation for specified components
  • Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • Train other team members in basic operation and support functions
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist other team members with the operation
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and assist in developing positive communications.
  • Make effective tooling and equipment change-overs in accordance with production schedules.
  • Make necessary adjustments to optimize performance throughout a production run.
  • Ensure OEE and scrap targets are met
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Monitor quality of parts being produced using measuring tools, gauges and fixtures
  • Understand incoming part quality and its effect on dimensional robustness
  • Responsible for any data input and recording necessary to support communication and performance improvement.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S in department and periodically participating with audit process.
  • Responsible to ensure adherence to EETAM quality policies and procedures and that product Quality expectations are met.

Secondary Accountabilities:

  • Conduct all business-related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two years technical training from a vocational program or technical school preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience related experience and/or training in manufacturing setting (CNC programing experience, controls programming, robotics, metal forming techniques, robotic experience, industrial maintenance programming coursework, robotics experience and or weld forming techniques).
  • Entry level knowledge in welding and metal forming techniques a plus.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude must pass mechanical aptitude test.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in basic computer skills

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to read and understand Calipers, Micrometers and basic math.
  • Ability to read schematics and/or blueprints
  • Ability to read work instructions and have familiarity with verbiage and industrial machinery.
  • Capable or ability to read BOM (Bill of Material) or ability to translate and identify parts for production run.
  • Ability to follow instruction for change-over of internal machine components, align tooling/or dies to specified dimension, using material handling devices and basic hand tools.
  • Competency in basic computer function and ability to navigate PC/HMI to execute a program start-up or locate file data.
  • Competencies in program call, program edit, program documentation, parameter and coordinate adjustment and variation ability
  • Calibrate digital scale.
  • Drive familiarity and or ability to -0- or home servo motor with instruction. Knowledge of servo drives in general and ability to set-up positioning through PC or HMI.
  • May be responsible for basic camera/scanner navigation and understanding of basic program, ability to create new, edit existing, save and understand function as well as troubleshoot and camera mechanical adjustability and focus
  • May be responsible for Press transducer program understanding and navigation as well as ability to adjust parameters.
  • HMI or (Human Machine Interface) experienced with touch screen.
  • Must have strong degree of mechanical understanding and ability to apply hands on skill to set-up, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery in hi pace and demanding environments
  • Function, as well as ability to define addressing information and locate per schematic error code output and recognize location of such addressing.
  • Constant ability to observe and recognize part variation, and necessary tooling/program deviation adjustments to define part consistency during output process and prior to maintain quality confirmed part.

  • This position involves working indoors around mechanical, electrical, robotics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
