Job description

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking to hire a student assistant, in a learning capacity, to work under the general supervision and direction of the Supervisor II (Office Administrator). In a learning capacity, the student assistant will assist in a wide range of administrative services and operational tasks for the Bay Area Legal Office (BALO). The student assistant will also gain hands-on experience in a professional public sector environment, developing a strong foundation in administrative support, financial processing, and office operations.


In a learning capacity, the student assistant will also assist the Analyst II with all invoice payment process, hiring process (i.e. scheduling interview, Legal Vacancy Fill Request, etc.) and assist in helping other support staff daily tasks as needed. The Student Analyst may be delegated difficult and complex duties which are analytical in nature.
