JOB TITLE: CAD Designer
POSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
The CAD Designer performs para-professional office and engineering tasks in support of various technical projects. Responsibilities may include drafting, project design, calculations, layout creation, quality control, and utilization of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools. Work assignments vary by experience level and may involve collaboration with engineering and project management staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree (minimum 60 semester units) in Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field preferred.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Three (3) years of para-professional experience in drafting, design, or engineering support.
  • One (1) year of experience may be waived with an accredited associate's degree.
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD software required.

Knowledge of:
  • Engineering principles, terminology, and drafting practices.
  • CAD systems and techniques.
  • Technical report writing and data analysis.
  • Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Time management, file organization, and documentation standards.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
