Title: Utility Design Administrator
Duration: 12 Months + Extensions
Location: Carson City, NV
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will initially be primarily Drafting, so an emphasis on CAD skills is required.
Performs design work for electric and/or gas new construction, capital maintenance or system improvements - which includes but not limited to project initiation, preparation of new improvement designs, cost estimates and contracts. Establishes project specific business relationships and facilitates the customer through the company's New Business Process. Focuses on the identification of customer needs and expectations for new business utility design for electric and/or gas projects by maintaining a working knowledge of company standards, tariffs and regulations. Works under the general direction of a higher-level Administrators

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs design work forelectric and/or gas new or expanded service or system improvements.
  • Maintains a working knowledgeof all company standards, tariffs and regulatory requirements to providethe most cost-effective designs. Creates and delivers preliminaryestimates.
  • Identifies needs andexpectations of the customer for electric and/or gas utility requirementsof project specific development. Serves as the central point of contactfor internal and external customers such as developers, contractors,engineering firms, local agencies and utilities from the inception to thecompletion of the assigned projects. Focuses on improvement of externalcustomer satisfaction.
  • Prepares and presents thefinancial agreement to the customer ensuring that the company delivers acomprehensive and accurate contract. Conducts pre-construction meetingswith Electric and Gas Inspectors, General Foreman and Area ServiceManagers as necessary.
  • May participate in the afterhour rotational on call supervisor program and assists in restorationactivities during storms or other emergencies"
