Job description

An engineering technician will be responsible for supporting engineering and design teams in the documentation and implementation of technical projects. This role involves creating and modifying technical drawings using CAD software, performing field measurements, diagnosing, documenting issue, and ensuring projects adhere to specified requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise and optimize technical drawings and plans using CAD software, based on engineer and designer sketches and specifications

  • Use hand tools, saws, and measuring devices to collect accurate field data, document findings, and ensure alignment with project requirements

  • Diagnose, document, and resolve technical issues by identifying root causes and recommending process improvements

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other professionals participating in meetings to clarify requirements and provide project updates

  • Maintain organized records of drawings, measurements, and field notes for easy retrieval and reference

  • Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standard, and project guidelines, and perform quality checks on produced plans

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in engineering, drafting, or related field preferred.

  • Experience in construction, drafting, or technical fieldwork is a plus

  • Ability to read, interpret and create CAD drawings; proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) is desirable
