The Junior Cabling Technician supports the installation, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling systems for voice, data, and video networks. This entry-level position works under the guidance of senior technicians and project supervisors, assisting with daily field work while learning industry standards and best practices.
What you will do as the Junior Cabling Technician:
The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Assist with the installation of copper and fiber optic cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coax, fiber)
  • Pull, route, and secure cables through walls, ceilings, conduits, and floor systems
  • Terminate cables at patch panels, jacks, racks, and network equipment
  • Label cables and maintain accurate as-built documentation
  • Perform basic cable testing and troubleshooting using test equipment
  • Assist with equipment mounting (racks, cable trays, ladder racks)
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions
  • Travel to job sites and assist with site preparation and cleanup
  • Support senior technicians with maintenance and troubleshooting tasks
What you will bring to the team:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of structured cabling concepts (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Entry-level cabling or low-voltage experience
  • Knowledge of industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI)
  • Basic experience with cable testing equipment
  • OSHA 10 or similar safety training
