Neostella

Chicago, IL • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Who We Are:

Every industry has a moment when technology finally catches up to the people doing the work.

We are building that moment for legal.

Neostella creates connected legal technology that brings together the data, workflows, and systems legal teams rely on every day.

Our platform helps firms move faster, collaborate more effectively, and focus on delivering stronger outcomes for their clients.

We believe the legal industry deserves more from its technology. That belief drives us to challenge the status quo and build systems designed for the way modern teams actually work.

We build with courage and measure our work by the impact it creates for our customers.

Recognized as one of Forbes' Best Startup Employers in the Americas for 2026, we are growing with people who want their work to matter.

If you want to build software that changes how an industry operates, you belong here. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team!

Why this role matters right now:

Neostella is growing rapidly, and every new customer relationship begins with a conversation. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll be on the front lines of that growth by introducing prospective clients to our solutions and helping them discover a better way to run their firms.

This role is about much more than making calls. You'll identify opportunities, build relationships, and create meaningful conversations that lead to new business. You'll partner closely with our Account Executives to generate qualified sales opportunities and play a direct role in expanding Neostella's presence in the legal technology industry.

We don't expect you to be an expert in legal technology on day one-we'll teach you our products, our market, and our sales process. What matters most is your curiosity, coachability, and desire to build a successful career in SaaS sales.

What you'll own:

You will be responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities by engaging prospective law firms through outbound and inbound outreach. You'll research accounts, identify key decision-makers, and initiate conversations that uncover business challenges and create interest in Neostella's solutions.

Working closely with Account Executives, you'll ensure prospects are well-qualified and prepared for productive discovery meetings. You'll also maintain accurate CRM records, continuously refine your outreach strategies, and actively participate in training to improve your sales skills.

Your success will directly contribute to the growth of our sales pipeline and help fuel Neostella's continued expansion.

What you bring:

We're looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people, learning new things, and challenging themselves every day.

You are calm under pressure, naturally curious, and confident starting conversations with new people. You ask thoughtful questions, actively listen, and genuinely enjoy understanding the challenges others face.

You have a positive attitude and embrace feedback as an opportunity to grow. You're disciplined, self-motivated, and energized by goals, competition, and continuous improvement.

You communicate clearly-both over the phone and in writing-and are comfortable learning new technologies, sales methodologies, and tools. While you enjoy winning individually, you also understand that great sales organizations succeed through collaboration.

Whether you're an early-career sales professional or looking to accelerate your SaaS sales career, you're excited by the opportunity to grow alongside an ambitious, supportive, and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

You'll play a critical role in building Neostella's sales pipeline and creating new business opportunities. This role is subject to work on other projects outside of the Neostella platform in regards to partnerships and other Neostella initiatives.

Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Reach out to prospective law firm contacts through email, phone calls, and LinkedIn.
  • Research target accounts to identify key decision-makers and personalize outreach strategies.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities to generate qualified sales opportunities.
  • Follow up promptly with inbound leads to convert interest into scheduled meetings.
  • Qualify prospects by understanding their business challenges, current processes, and potential fit for Neostella's solutions.

Sales Execution

  • Schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to ensure a seamless handoff and productive customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, conversations, and opportunities within Salesforce CRM.
  • Track daily outreach activities, follow-ups, and pipeline progress.
  • Consistently meet or exceed activity, meeting, and pipeline generation goals.

Learning & Development

  • Actively participate in sales training, coaching sessions, and skill development programs.
  • Continuously improve prospecting techniques, messaging, and objection-handling skills.
  • Stay informed on Neostella's products, the legal technology industry, and competitive landscape.
  • Celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reach out to new law firm contacts via email, phone, and LinkedIn
  • Research accounts to identify key contacts and personalize outreach
  • Manage your day in Salesforce CRM and track all tasks, activities, interactions, notes, etc.
  • Follow up (immediately) on inbound leads to convert interest into meetings
  • Collaborate with your Account Executive teammates to make a smooth handoff that ensures a productive meeting for your prospect
  • Celebrate your wins and learn from your misses - growth is part of the job
  • Actively engage in sales training programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, or a similar sales-focused role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to engage prospects and communicate value effectively through phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage leads, activities, and sales opportunities.
  • Familiarity with B2B sales processes, prospecting techniques, and pipeline management.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teammates.
