SUMMARY:


The Social Media Manager is responsible for executing the brand's day-to-day social media strategy by publishing content, engaging with audiences, monitoring trends, and supporting content production across social platforms. This role focuses on creating and managing engaging social content, identifying viral and cultural opportunities, collaborating with internal teams and influencers, maintaining content calendars, and tracking performance metrics to optimize engagement. The position also ensures brand standards, legal compliance, accurate content tagging, and effective community management while escalating issues and insights to appropriate teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage social publishing and real-time engagement across social platforms and channels.

  • Implement best practices across social media and digital touchpoints including identifying trends and performing social listening (competition).

  • Fully execute new ideas and leverage viral moments, trends and cultural opportunities rooted in editorial strategy.

  • Produce short‑form video, polls, image‑based memes or other types of digital and social media content on a daily and weekly basis to feed our social media channels aligned to brand goals and fan interests.

  • Actively seek out and share competitive and innovative social media learnings, reporting tips, trends and viral moments on a weekly basis and in real time for maximum impact.

  • Ideate and assign content creation tasks to various resources (Content Creator, Creative Services, Designers, Editors, third parties) and manage production process, communication, approval and distribution of content.

  • Collaborate with talent and influencers as instructed, including providing assets, direction and training as necessary.

  • Monitor and respond to community interactions and feedback, ensuring brand standards are upheld, issues are addressed, and our channels remain safe and positive place for viewers.

  • Surface consumer sentiment, issues, challenges, viral moments or highlights in real time and follow up with key resources (PR, Programming, Legal, Marketing, Customer Support, etc.) as needed until issues are resolved.

  • Maintain accurate content calendars, planning and posting allocations by brand within AirTable, focusing on improving processes and updating tactics to provide greater benefit to internal teams as platform use grows and evolves.

  • Coordinate with Editorial Director, Campaign Manager and Content Creator for campaign alignment and content approvals.

  • Track engagement KPIs using dashboard and reporting tools, use analytics to inform content decisions and improve overall product and outcomes.

  • Monitor, document and escalates social and community trends to editorial/brand team to inform strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with governance and legal requirements for social content.

  • Maintain accurate tagging and metadata in social publishing workflows and follow UTM guidance to ensure proper link tracking and attribution.

  • Occasional travel, as needed.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced working knowledge of major social platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and LinkedIn, with an understanding of platform‑specific publishing, analytics, audience engagement, and content best practices.

  • Experience using social media management software for content scheduling, publishing, community management, social listening, and reporting.

  • Strong proficiency with native and third‑party social analytics, including the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable content recommendations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for organizing, analyzing, and reporting social media performance data.

  • Ability to create and edit platform‑native social content, including short‑form vertical video, captions, simple graphics and resized or reformatted assets.

  • Proficiency with Canva and at least one video‑editing platform, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut or a comparable tool.

  • Experience maintaining content calendars and managing assignments, assets, approvals and deadlines through a collaborative project management or workflow platform.

  • Understanding of social media community management, moderation, social listening and escalation practices.

  • Working knowledge of UTM parameters, trackable links, click‑through measurement, and basic digital conversion reporting.

  • Understanding of social SEO, accessibility, metadata and discoverability best practices across major platforms.


Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Agorapulse, Airtable and Brandfolder.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and Photoshop.

  • Experience with Google Analytics, Looker, Branch or comparable analytics and attribution platforms.

  • Experience managing and optimizing YouTube channels through YouTube Studio.

  • Familiarity with paid social campaign setup, targeting, optimization, and reporting.

  • Experience using social listening tools to evaluate audience sentiment, cultural trends, and brand health.

  • Familiarity with generative AI tools for content development and workflow efficiency, with appropriate attention to accuracy, confidentiality and brand standards.

  • Experience working with entertainment, television, or streaming content and adapting long‑form programming assets into platform‑native social content.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

  • Minimum of four years of professional experience in social media, digital content, digital marketing, or a related field, including at least two years directly managing social media channels for a brand, media company, agency, or consumer‑facing organization

  • Experience in television, entertainment, streaming, or media preferred

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects in a structured, organized manner, meet deadlines, and align projects with business goals
