Job description

Entry-Level Brand Ambassador – Door-to-Door Neighborhood Outreach

What if the biggest risk isn’t trying something new—but spending another year wondering what you could have done if you had taken the chance?

Dominion Exteriors is selecting only three to five people for our next Brand Ambassador class.

Let’s be completely clear: this is a door-to-door neighborhood outreach position. You’ll work with a team, speak with homeowners, and schedule free roof health checkups. It isn’t always easy—but if you’re willing to show up, learn, and remain consistent, we’ll teach you how to succeed.

The Opportunity

  • $100 for every completed inspection/demo
  • 1% bonus when your appointment becomes a sold job
  • Flexible, year-round schedule
  • Typically 20–25 hours per week
  • No experience required
  • Training and one week of hands-on shadowing
  • Always work with a team—never alone
  • Performance contests and advancement opportunities

This opportunity may be a strong fit for students age 18 or older, people working another job, or anyone looking to earn additional income without committing to a rigid part-time schedule.

What You’ll Do: You’ll work with a Dominion team in assigned neighborhoods throughout the greater Triangle.

Your role is straightforward:

  • Knock on homeowners’ doors
  • Start friendly, professional conversations
  • Introduce Dominion Exteriors
  • Offer a free roof health checkup
  • Schedule appointments for our trained roof inspectors
  • Enter appointment information into our software

You will not climb roofs, perform inspections, collect money, sign contracts, or close roofing sales.

Dominion provides the neighborhoods, maps, homeowner information, software, scripts, apparel, training, coaching, and team support.

We provide the system. You provide the effort.

How You Get Paid

This is performance-based compensation, not hourly pay.

  • $100 for every completed inspection/demo
  • 1% of the contract value when your appointment becomes a sold job
  • Demo pay is paid weekly
  • Sold-job bonuses are paid monthly
  • Bonuses are earned once the contract is signed and Dominion receives the deposit
  • You do not wait for the roof to be installed

Dominion’s average contract is approximately $18,000, making the average sold-job bonus approximately $180.

Here are a few examples:

  • 3 completed demos + 1 average sold job = approximately $480
  • 5 completed demos + 1 average sold job = approximately $680
  • 7 completed demos + 2 average sold jobs = approximately $1,060

These are examples, not guaranteed earnings. Your income depends on completed demos, sold jobs, consistency, and individual performance.

Build This Around Your Life

  • Preferred hours are Monday–Saturday, 4 p.m. until dark
  • Other hours may be coordinated with the Canvassing Director
  • Typically 20–25 hours per week
  • Approximately 30 hours maximum
  • Minimum expectation: five appointments scheduled per week
  • Flexible scheduling around school, another job, or family responsibilities
  • Year-round opportunity

Experience Is Optional. Behavior Is Not.

You do not need roofing or sales experience. We can teach you how to approach homeowners, start conversations, handle rejection, and schedule appointments.

What we need from you is the willingness to:

  • Show up when you say you will
  • Listen and learn
  • Apply the coaching
  • Talk comfortably with new people
  • Remain positive after hearing “no”
  • Work consistently
  • Take responsibility for your results

No diploma, college enrollment, roofing experience, or previous sales experience is required.

Performance may also be rewarded with contests and prizes such as gas cards, iPads, drones, sporting-event tickets, concert tickets, amusement-park tickets, and team outings.

Our Owner Started by Knocking Doors:

Twenty years ago, Dominion’s owner started as a canvasser.

That first step led to leadership, building successful teams, and eventually owning a roofing company.

Strong performers may have opportunities to advance into positions such as Senior Brand Ambassador, Team Lead, Canvassing Director, or Sales Representative.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Smartphone with an active data plan
  • Ability to complete a background check
  • Comfortable walking and working outdoors for several hours
  • Able to report to Durham
  • Willing to work assigned neighborhoods throughout the greater Triangle

We do not canvass during severe weather, and you will always work with a team.
