Our Mass Spectrometry Services (MSS) team supports advanced bioanalytical instruments used in global drug development and clinical research. These systems directly support preclinical, nonclinical, and clinical trials worldwide and have contributed to groundbreaking drug and gene therapy approvals. This process is vital to the operation success of the Bioanalytical Department (GBA).

If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, troubleshooting electronics, and working with complex systems, this role is for you.

The LC-MS group’s expertise lies in the quantitation of small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, proteins, and metabolite biomarkers by various mass spectrometric (LC-MS/(HR)MS, and hybrid/immunoaffinity mass spec) techniques. We have been pivotal in supporting most of the HIV/HBC/HCV drugs, one of the first 3 ADCs, and 9 of the last 18 oligonucleotides therapeutics approved by FDA


No visa sponsorship (e.g. H‑1B, L‑1, E) will be provided for this active position, now or in the future. Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent or unrestricted basis.

The Job

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair LC-MS/MS systems and associated bioanalytical instrumentation
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance qualification on: LC-MS/MS systems, UHPLC systems, LC-UV/FLD and related analytical equipment
  • Support equipment validation and system performance verification
  • Install and configure new instrumentation
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables
  • Work with cross-functional scientific teams
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and high-performing laboratory environment


Requirements

  • BS degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related field
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics, instrumentation, or integrated systems
  • Hands-on laboratory, capstone, internship, or co-op experience with analytical or biomedical equipment
  • Preferred:
    • Exposure to chromatography systems (HPLC/UHPLC)
    • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation, optics, detectors, or signal processing
    • Experience with mass spectrometry (academic or internship experience acceptable)
    • Knowledge of analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences
