"Specialty Experience and Education Statements for the Biological Science Technician (Fisheries and Wildlife):- Biological Science Technician (Fisheries): Must possess the minimum qualifications as depicted above, which includes experience and/or education directly related to research, conservation, production, and management of fishes, fishery resources, or in the determination, establishment, and application of biological facts, methods, techniques, and procedures necessary for research, conservation, and management of fishes and other aquatic animals, such as crustaceans and mollusks, where the work does not principally involve management responsibility for the operation of fish hatcheries.
- Biological Science Technician (Wildlife): Must possess the minimum qualifications as depicted above, which includes experience and/or education directly related to applying knowledge of research, conservation, and management of wildlife; the control of wildlife; or the determination, establishment, and application of the biological facts, principles, methods, techniques, and procedures necessary for the conservation, management, and control of wildlife.

Education:
Minimum Qualifications - Education OR Combining Education and Experience Statements:GS-05 - Four-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in an accredited educational institution (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) which included at least 24 semester hours of scientific or technical courses, such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least 6 semester hours of courses must be directly related to this position. Examples of directly related courses are biology, botany, ecology, environmental science, or natural resource management.
OR have an equivalent combination of education and experience. For example, I have six months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirements for this position and grade level) combined with 2 years of education as outlined above (50% of the education required to qualify), which included at least 12 semester hours of scientific or technical courses, such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least 3 semester hours of courses must be directly related to this position. Examples of directly related courses are biology, botany, ecology, environmental science or natural resource management.
